Spring meeting TVK 2026 in Bruinisse large turnout

The spring meeting of the TVK according to a new formula turned out to be well received given the large number of registrations. Given the limited space in the harbor and in the clubhouse with a tent set up, participants had to be refused in the last week before the event. With 25 boats and more than 70 participants, it was a great turnout.

It was a weekend never to be forgotten, that in the first place. The weather was extraordinary and a reason not to go out normally. But friends of the Trintella club cheerfully took the plunge and then sailed towards Bruinisse from all corners of the world. Through wind and weather! By sea and the South Holland waters. Because of the anticipation on the WhatsApp, everyone was able to enjoy and sympathize well in advance because once in the water, not only the mast must still be visible. Hopefully it all worked out. Furthermore, everyone came out of the lock, forward or backward, sleepers still forward! Even the arrival in the harbor of Bruinisse was far from quiet but once moored it felt like the wind had died down.

The jetty drink in the clubhouse was cozy, even heartwarming, so that all worries ebbed away. So nice to experience that the TVK is like one big family. A family in which technical consultations take place, solutions are devised, the mind gets a mental reset and even the non-self-evident health is taken care of. TVK is at home in all markets.

During the palaver, the race was tightly explained and sailors were assigned as boarders to whoever had offered it. The race numbers were handed out and hearts started beating faster. You could also choose to act as a boarder yourself. And that feels good too.

The boats sailed and were able to become familiar with the Grevelingen for a while so that jammers do not have to be dead ends. The route and the buoy numbers were thoroughly studied and recorded on our own map and after the horn of the starting boat, the start was made in two sessions. The race was great and the nice thing was that the optimists had to be taken into account, the small boats that is. Sharp sailing and more frequent tacking were necessary and provided extra elements in the race. The weather also cooperated in the sense that the wind picked up and the rain provided the necessary cooling. Hats on, hats off. The team spirit was put to the test by boat and cooperation turned out to be the ultimate challenge to win. That feels good. You can't get that smile off your face anymore.

Back in the harbor, the afterglow could begin. Warming up was possible from 17:00 in the clubhouse, where tempers calmed down again and common sense took over from the adrenaline again. The BBQ that followed at 18:00 was excellently arranged. Suitable for indoor and outdoor sitters. Experiences were shared and if you were thinking about anything else, this was the time to forget everything. The results were announced and a toast was made to the prizes and appreciation for the organization.

TVK in heart and soul, the return trip also felt like a warm bath, beaches in the harbor were ruled out and a close bond developed in the locks. There is no more loving collaboration.
