This year's event will take place on November 14 and is organized by Marion Virnich and Gerhard Schlatzke.
Even today, Duisburg still has the image of a dirty and gray city. In reality, however, Duisburg is strikingly blue and, with 21 port basins and a total area of 1,550 hectares, is home to the largest inland port in the world. This is where the Rhine and Ruhr rivers meet Duisburg is the European terminus of the New Silk Road and has a long industrial history. That is precisely why we think that the city is definitely worth a visit.

How to get there:
- By car: The hotel has only 10 parking spaces, but there are several parking garages in the immediate vicinity (costs: €12–18 per day).NB. A German environmental sticker is mandatory when you enter an environmental zone such as large cities or the Ruhr area.- By train: Duisburg Central Station is about a 15-minute walk away.

Friday 13 November15.00 hrs: Arrival hotel with check-in is possible from 15.00 hrs
19.00 hrs: Joint 3-course dinner in the hotel restaurant is possible (fish, meat or vegetarian). This dinner is at your own expense. Indicate your choice on the TVK registration form.
Saturday, November 14
, 9:30 a.m.: Reception with coffee/tea in the conference foyer with welcome speech by the chairman
10:30 a.m.: Departure for the harbor tour (approx. 15 minutes walk), be on time, the boat will not wait
11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.: Harbor tour with the "Weiße Flotte" including lunch and a drink, more drinks are at your own expense. Unfortunately, the information during the cruise is only available in German
13.00 – 16.00 hrs: Free time, suggestions see below
16.00 – 17.30 hrs: Informal get-together in the Conference foyer of the hotel with a drink (at your own expense)
17.30 – 18.30 hrs: General Assembly in the Kleiner Saal on the ground floor
From 19.00 hrs: Dinner and closing

Registration/Anmeldung
Register via the registration form below. The contribution for the program of Saturday 14 November is €85 per person. Drinks during lunch, informal get-together and dinner are at your own expense. On the form you can indicate your choice of menu for the Friday evening, your choice of lunch for the harbor trip and any dietary requirements or food allergies. Due to agreements that the TVK has to make with various parties, the closing date for registration is 24 October.

Duisburg-Nord Landscape Park https://www.landschaftspark.de
The Duisburg-Nord Landscape Park is a 180-hectare park that has been laid out on and around the former Duisburg-Meiderich steel complex. The site has been designated as a protected industrial monument. The buildings that are still present, including the blast furnaces and foundry halls, are exceptionally well preserved and give an impressive picture of a blast furnace complex from the early twentieth century. An industrial-historical route runs through the park that introduces visitors step by step to the production process of pig iron, from the supply of raw materials to the disposal of the end product. The Landscape Park is open 24 hours a day and admission is free.

The Museum der Deutschen Binnenschifffahrt (Museum of German Inland Navigation) hosts Germany's largest exhibition on navigation on rivers, canals and lakes. Discover the history of shipping from the Stone Age to the present day: detailed replicas of ships, ports and shipyards and historical objects are exhibited in an old Art Nouveau-style swimming pool. The museum ships are located in the harbour mouth (near the Schifferbörse). Be amazed by the technical ingenuity and see everything up close, including the Oscar Huber, the last rowing tug on the Rhine, the steam bucket dredger Minden and the crane ship Fendel 147.The museum is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and the entrance fee is €4.50
